From 1 January 2026, the National Stroke Data Linkage Interest Group will transition to the Australian Cardiovascular Data Linkage Interest Group
The Australian Cardiovascular Data Linkage Interest Group is set to be established on 1 January 2026, replacing the former National Stroke Data Linkage Interest Group. This transition marks an important step in broadening the scope of data linkage initiatives to encompass the full spectrum of cardiovascular health research across Australia.
The new group will benefit from collaboration with the Australian Cardiovascular Alliance (ACvA) Big Data Flagship, enhancing its capacity to drive large-scale, integrated data projects. It will also maintain its long-standing collaboration with the Australian Stroke Clinical Registry (AuSCR), ensuring continuity in stroke research while expanding to include other cardiovascular conditions such as heart disease.
"This evolution reflects our commitment to advancing cardiovascular research through robust data linkage," said co-chair Prof Monique Kilkenny. "With strategic collaboration with ACvA’s Big Data Flagship and the AuSCR, we are poised to deliver insights that will improve health outcomes nationwide."
The Australian Cardiovascular Data Linkage Interest Group will serve as a collaborative platform for researchers, clinicians, and policymakers, fostering innovation in data linkage methodologies and supporting evidence-based improvements in clinical practice and health policy.
